Student Life Shop - Thank you to the Community

posted Sep 3, 2018, 4:50 PM by Sharon Ames

A big thank you to everyone who pitched in to help make the 2018 L.I.F.E. Food Pantry, annual Student Life Shop event a success.

The goal of the SLS is that the school age children of our clients begin a new school year with a backpack full of grade appropriate school supplies. This year we're happy to announce that 194 of these students registered for a backpack. But as you know, that's not all they get. Each child also receives a bag of personal care items, Tiger gear, gift cards from Dairy Whip and Loveland Sweets, a tote bag filled with baking items, books, a haircut at Great Clips and Payless Shoes, plus access to resources available to them in our community.

We couldn't have done this without you!! THANK YOU!!

Open House for Board Members and Pantry Volunteers

posted Apr 7, 2018, 5:14 AM by Sharon Ames

Dear Board Members and Pantry “Staff”,
On Sunday, April 15th, 12:15-1:30, the L.I.F.E. Pantry will be holding an Open House so that the congregations that support our efforts as well as the community at large can visit to see the work that we do. We will have the Pantry set up in precisely the way that it operates when we are serving clients—our hope is that we can all spread the word. Please make sure that this information is announced during your services, in newsletters, on websites, in bulletins—wherever you are able to spread the word! It will go on our website as well as our Facebook page, and out to local publications.
Of course, we would LOVE to have people bring contributions, but the real purpose is to get our name and mission out to the community during our Feed the Hungry Challenge, which continues through May 31st. We will have information available about various types of food drives, how to donate, how to volunteer, how to help us make a difference in the lives of those in our community who are underserved.
Please join me in spreading the word about both our organization and this opportunity to see what we provide!
Thanks in advance—hope to see you there!
Best,
Linda Bergholz
Director/L.I.F.E. Pantry

SOUP'er Tuesday - 3/6

posted Mar 4, 2018, 6:42 PM by Anna Bunker [ updated Mar 4, 2018, 6:42 PM ]

Scott Gordon, owner of The Works (and son of our L.I.F.E. Board Member and volunteer, Laurie Gordon) is sponsoring a fundraiser for the L.I.F.E. Food Pantry on Tuesday, March 6th. The theme is SOUP--diners will be asked to donate cans of soup when they come (we'll leave the donation bin at the restaurant for the rest of the week for extra donations). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Pantry, and Scott is making homemade soup that he will then package and donate to us as well. What a great chilly winter promotion!

Please put it on your calendar and plan to join us if possible--you don't have to order soup, of course :) We will be publicizing the event all of February, so spread the word to friends and neighbors. If you have a neighborhood email chain, that would be a great place to advertise the event. It will go on our website and Facebook page, in the weekly needs that we send out, the City of Loveland newsletter, Loveland Magazine, The Chamber, etc. If you have any places that you regularly post, please share! I don't "tweet" but if you do, please feel free. Thanks for your support!
